What is Faith at Home Ministries?

We assist parents and in some cases churchs to design opportunities for parents to lead their kids spiritually—because what happens at home Monday thru Saturday is so important and affects what happens at church.  We hope to see churches become life-long partners to families through workshops, classes and small groups that teach and support parents in their role as primary faith influencers to their children. As noted in Pearcey’s 2023 book on masculinity, statistics show “devout Christian family men who attend church regularly are more loving husbands and more engaged fathers.  They have the lowest rate of divorce.  And astonishingly, they have the lowest rate of domestic violence of any major group in America.”

Why Is It Important?

The American church has 52 hours per year to teach your children about Christ.  Parents have 3,000 discretionary hours per year to teach and train their kids in faith at home.  A survey of 11,500 children, from 5 different denominations, who attend church weekly, shows only 1 out of every 10 children receive any teaching on the Word of God or are prayed with at home.  There is an epidemic of lost young people who reach college age.  Eight out of 10 are walking away from their “faith” when they enter the work force or start  college.  This sad reality can be changed by returning to a devout faith at home, partnered with a strong Biblical local church.

Where do we Start?

We follow the road map of God’s Word in Deuteronomy 6:5-7  “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.  And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”  So start today, right where you are, ask God to help you grow in your faith with Him, and ask God to help you love Him this way and to share this love for Him with your children when you’re at home around the table or at bedtime or in the morning or anytime you’re traveling in the car to or from school or games, etc.  Start today and God will help you grow in maturity as you’re faithful.  Read the Bible with your kiddos daily together.  Before you know it, you will claim with Joshua 24:15. “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
