What is Faith at Home Ministries and What do we do?
We assist church leadership to design opportunities for parents to lead their kids spiritually–because what happens at home, is more important than what happens at church.
We work with churches to become life-long partners to families–from the cradle to graduation.
We develop workshops, classes and small groups that teach and support parents in their role as primary faith influencers to their children.
We research books and other resources to assist parents in their God-given responsibility of faith enablers to their children.
When requested, we provide on-site classes to train leadership of local churches.
We assist parents in developing Faith at Home as a lifestyle — not a church program?
Who is it for?
Faith at Home Ministries is to help anyone who lives at home to become fully devoted followers of Christ: singles, single parents, empty nesters, families, blended families, grandparents.
Faith at Home is multi- generational just like the Acts 2 church!
Why is it Important?
The American church has an average of 40 hours per year to teach your children about Christ. Parents have 3000 hours per year to teach faith at home. A survey of 11,500 children, from 5 different Denominations, who attend church weekly, shows only 1 out of every 10 kids receive any teaching on the word of God or are prayed with at home. There is a epidemic of lost young people who reach college age. Eight out of every ten are walking away from there faith when they enter the work force or start college. This sad reality can be changed by returning to a faith at home church that is in a life long partnership with each family.
Where do we start?
We follow the road map of Gods word. In Deuteronomy 6 God instructs “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. and these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” So we start today right where we are and ask God to help us to have a love for him that is greater and to share about God with our children when we’re at home around the table or at bed time or in the morning or any time and when we are traveling in the car to and from school and games etc. We start and God helps us and we grow and take the challenge to learn to pray with and for our kids, to find a Bible or devotional we can share with our kids. And before we know it we claim with Joshua 24:15 “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
